You must be the Observer.
Your role is to observe the challenge group/s. Ensure you have your paper handy to note down your observations on any signs of the following:
How the group and individuals are behaving.
What the group and individuals are thinking.
How the group and individuals are feeling.

It can not be attached, suspended or supported in any way
You can cut/break up the items EXCEPT the marshmallow

The Results.
Measure and note down the height of the structure achieved. Don't worry if the group has been unsuccessful. Groups that have dominant innovators can struggle to get the stability to have the tower stay standing at the end of the 18 minutes, as they tend to take more risks!
Whilst this is a fun experiment it is much more then a team building exercise.
The reason it is so powerful is because it was designed as a tool to research group performance, utilised for an international study which has provide key and surprising insights into what the characteristics of team performance look like.
