Emotions and the Brain
Our emotions are the driving force behind many of our behaviours.
Meaning is the game changer.
It is not the situations we are faced with, but the meaning we attach to them that counts. Here in lies the key to shifting our people's mindsets and motivating them to show up as their best selves.
Whilst rewards are definitely a motivation tool, and affirmations e.g positive feedback, supports our people to feel safe and keep that CROC disengaged, a much greater pull is our bigger purpose, our why.

Part 1
Find and write down your organisation's vision/mission and /or purpose statements.
Is there are clear 'why', a compelling reason for your existence?
TIP:
Try not to focus on any reasons of why this why is not achievable, e.g what your organisation might be doing wrong or how there are too many barriers (this could either engage your CROC or change your mindset to 'closed' due to the meaning you apply here).
Reflect on the why and what it means to you. Write down a number between 1-10 to rate your connection to this why.
1= This is of no importance to me 10= This reflects my own purpose 100%
Do your organisational vision/purpose statements define at all 'what' it is that you focus on as an organisation? What do you do in your day to day role, that is working towards this bigger picture?
